IMHO, the problem began with this alternative agreement being called same sex marriage. The word “marriage” is already taken and has a definite meaning legally and biologically. Why could there not have been another name for the participants wanting to commit their lives to each other (whether I agree with it or not) ? I hate it when words get co-opted by the left for an entirely different meaning and just become part of the lexicon.
