Now, let me say something about the Department of Justice itself.

We are not perfect, but we are the finest law firm in the world. We have more than 100,000 dedicated men and women who work every day to enforce the law fairly and to protect the rights of our citizens.

We will not make decisions based on politics. We will not leak sensitive information. We will not allow law enforcement to be used as a political weapon.

Our decisions will be based on law and fact. We will follow the Constitution and we will protect the American people.

And let me close with this:

I believe that when the history is written about this Department of Justice, it will reflect that President Trump appointed one of the finest teams ever assembled in our Department.

It will show that we were true to our oaths—that we respected the rule of law and that we kept faith with the Constitution.

We will not cede ground to lawlessness. We will not be deterred. We will do what we said we would do. And we will do it with integrity and fairness for all.
