It had been several months after the attack and it was the 1st big event I had attended. It happened at a NASCAR race at Texas Motor Speedway. The sky was filled with military helicopters circling the crowd all day. We were all happy to see how we were being protected. A group of 4 plain clothes marines were seated behind us and we were having so much fun partying with them for a while. They told us they had been over in Afghanistan. I asked the one sitting right behind me what was going on and if they were getting close to finding Bin Laden. He told me, They know where he is but they don’t want us to find him”. I immediately said, What? His buddies gave him a horrible look and I could also tell that he just realized that he just said something to a civilian that he should not have said and probably would not have said if he had not been drinking. I kept asking him, what did you say? Why did you say that? He ignored me and would not answer and at that moment those 4 marines never said another word to us and became very distant to us the rest of the day. I have never forgotten this and this was when I knew that something was definitely not right about what we were being told.
My unforgettable experience shortly after 911.
Cabal is History
I really didn’t know what to make of it other than something was not right. They were nice young men so I don’t think they were necessarily in on it but I felt they probably knew more because of their situation and knew that talking about what they knew could get them in trouble. That has always been my take on why they acted the way they did, but really not sure.
