Recent CDC resignations:

Dr. Angela Rasmussen resigned as a COVID-19 vaccine adviser after the CDC removed recommendations to immunize children and pregnant women. 

Demetre Daskalakis, the director of the National Center for Immunization and Respiratory Diseases, resigned, citing the CDC's vaccination recommendations as putting young Americans and pregnant women at risk. 

Debra Houry, the CDC's chief medical officer, resigned, expressing concerns about the overstating of risks and the rise of misinformation.

Daniel Jernigan, the director of the National Center for Emerging and Zoonotic Infectious Diseases, and Jennifer Layden, the director of the Office of Public Health Data, Surveillance, and Technology, also stepped down.
