Asking because it makes no sense to me. The only reason I can come up with is because our government has zero control over our money.

Trump hasn't fired Powell afaik, just Lisa Cook.
Has he been trying to fire Powell though? I had a friend tell me that he had been. Haven't looked into any stories about this specific subject though.
He hasnt and Bessent confirmed multiple times that since Powell's term will end in a few months, once the replacement is announced, it will effectively change him to soften up. So we just have a couple months, and that seems to be part of the plan.
Remember, high interest rates is hurting ECB more than Americans.
