"Surveillance video showed Thompson leaving her white Ford Edge SUV at a nightclub in Hyattsville on the night of August 22.
Police said she approached Hernandez-Mendez's GMC Yukon Denali and, after a brief conversation, walked to the passenger side and got into the front seat."
According to Dacara's mother, "She was a great...kind of an outgoing, soft spoken, kind, young lady."
Seems there was another side to Dacara to which her parents were unaware. Not saying she deserved to die, but that when you deal with shady characters, there can be pretty bad consequences. Perhaps some MSM reporters do not want to highlight the negative aspects of her behavior.
There are choices we make, especially when we are younger, that potentially put us in danger. If she was engaged in prostitution, her choices greatly increased her chances of what eventually did happen. Sometimes, sadly, things that don't fit the narrative go both ways.
The woman pictured you may (or may not) have seen on social media is 19-year-old Dacara Thompson. She was reported missing by her family and eventually found dead along US Route 50. Through the efforts of Prince George's County police, a suspect was arrested. Shockingly, the "Maryland Man" they arrested was here illegally.
It's worth noting that this story has been pushed aside on Faux in favor of wall-to-wall coverage of the Ukrainian woman's murder on the train in Charlotte. I get that because there is actual video of the murder the journalists' creed of "if it bleeds it leads" applies here, but the timing of the Charlotte murder has made me question a few things:
I get that the other fake news outlets like CNN and whatever the hell they're calling MSNBC now are willfully ignoring this story because it doesn't fit their narrative, but this story is a perfect fit for Faux. A young black woman's murder by an illegal alien in Maryland should, in theory, end Chris Van Hollen's obsession with "muh due process" for criminal aliens, Wes Moore's presidential aspirations, and any notion that Black Lives Matter to the Democrats. If Faux cares so much about conservative causes, they should have this story on repeat along with the Charlotte story. Instead, it almost feels like they're letting Moore and Van Hollen off the hook.
I am as fatigued about calling everything racism as everyone else here, but is Faux racist because the Charlotte story is getting way more airtime? Is it because the victim a white, Ukrainian woman? Or is it solely because there is a video?
Am I agitated by the lack of coverage because Dacara's death happened too close to home? I live in Bloodymore's shadow, and murders are all too common. Her murder bothered me because she was found on a stretch of road frequently traveled by members of my family. I'm glad for the coverage of other local stories like Rachel Morin's murder and "Maryland Dad" Abrego Garcia. I just feel like this has equal weight with these other stories.
I will say our local political discussion boards are discussing Dacara Thompson's murder at length, but would really like to see it push through to the national stage. Her life mattered too.

yeah, mostly just local coverage been happening. I did not bother to actually read to see if they said he was illegal or not though. Looking through her photos, maybe they should not of ran with a filtered glam shot of her. RIP young lady.
Weird, because I thought the same thing about Rachel Morin. The media posted pictures of her where she had clearly had a LOT of work done on her (lip plumping, Botox, etc.). I wonder when families provide photos of their missing/deceased loved ones if they take the time to consider how their loved ones are perceived.
Yeah, that was my point, glam photos are peek of your look.. normal every day you will not look like that so prolly better to show a normal every day you photo that, people can spot you easier if you are indeed missing. :/
