California has the nation's highest poverty rate, despite boasts by Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) that the state has the world's 4th-richest economy.

There is the value of your "GDP".

GDP is just only one of many measurement of economic activity. In isolation it means nothing. Every time the GOP and/or Trump talk about Billions of Dollars of Investment or the great GDP, I question who is going to benefit from that? Is the public going to get any scraps of the table? Are US Citizens going to get any job or are the jobs going to the H1B1 and Visa holders? Because right now only the Uber-rich and the H1B foreigners are getting richer.
