If we use any of Scripture, we have to use it all. For some reason, the same Jesus that emphasized forgiveness also said to secure a personal weapon. He also ran the thieves out of his Father's house.
I know I generally go the "Soft Answer" and forgiveness path, but yesterday, I backed a karen up. She was wrong, she was nasty, and I was the customer.
but securing a personal weapon has nothing to do with forgiveness. I know it's hard brother/sister. It sure is hard when they are wrong and nasty. Truth and forgiveness. Bless you too
Hey, I'm with you. One thing that might be crossed here is this: Forgiving someone does not mean you no longer consider them a threat. It means you're no longer holding a grudge. You can forgive someone but still decide to not associate with them. Especially if they are a repeat thief/murderer like the dems. The "forgive them and pretend they aren't murderous" mentality is described as "suicidal empathy" because it's just that.

God forgives only after repentance. Why should we do anything different?

Is this what you mean?
Who are you to demand repentance? Sinners don't answer to humans, only God. I don't want this to turn into an argument...
I don't demand it. I'm just saying I'm not giving it until he asks for it. If I'm wrong, I'm wrong.
Because that is the dynamic with God…. Men must forgive because we are commanded to based on our forgiveness. 70 times 7 is the Prescription.
