I remember when our state "legalized" gay marriage. I told everyone I could that it was a slippery slope. They said "no! They just want to be able to visit their loved one in the hospital! They want to be able to share insurance!!" I would say that I'd tell anyone I was married to my roommate to get on her insurance then. It is a slippery slope. I felt like even my conservative friends were hoodwinked on this one, but their eyes are open now.
