I have thought of this too... they can get re-hired, and their future employer has no idea what kind of person this was. There needs to be something more than "fired". We don't do background checks through the state or feds to hire employees, we don't pay them huge salaries or as a small, family owned business have enough money to do that for everyone. But if there was some way to tell from just a reference check or some other way, I would be grateful.
