Actually you are wrong on all counts here.
The pastor does contribute to the church, just like the rest of the members. And he does work right along side other volunteers.
I'm really sorry that happened you you. It makes it such a step of faith to get back into the community. Sorry for being harsh... I just don't agree with an attitude that disdains the church necessarily.
Does your pastor "tithe" that 10% which they hammer the congregation with the same as with you ? Or do they get off Scott free?
Do they work willingly and not for filthy lucre or receiving a salary (money) like you do? Or do they get off Scott free?
When they ask of you to do a chore or major task of resealing a roof are they up there with you guys working too?
I am quite sure the answer is a resounding NO. If this is the case,
Sorry friend you're a patsy.

That's unusual for a pastor to roll up his sleeves. I have not seen that before.
Unusual in your experience. Not unusual in mind.
It says a lot about the types of pastors you’ve engaged with.
No, he's probably a faithful servant in the community. You have NO CLUE whether this individual is a "patsy" or not.
Honestly, reading your comments, YOU are the patsy, and you're angry about it.
Whatever dude
Of course I was a patsy. A big patsy to these big business churches but then I caught on.
The only thing that gets me angry is when I've been duped.
Especially when many of their teachings have been a lie.

No problem. I made a lot of friends back in my 20's and we played a lot of sports back then. It was a blast and many I still keep in touch with.
It was fun. No much into biblical doctrine back then.
