This is the visceral reaction I have been referring to. It is real.
The Cardinal speaks for many of us in his statement.
That comment alone tells me this guy doesnt k ow jack shit about the apostle paul. Kirk was wonderful at whst he was doing, but in no way did he do in his life anything close to what paul did. Study paul and its clear. Next thing you know theyll compare him to the savior. Let charlie be charlie, his merits stand on their own and they are mighty.

“Lying in Honor” is a recognition reserved for ppl who've made extraordinary contributions to the nation. Kirk's influence on a subset of the pop, mainly young ppl is significant, tho it’s not on the level of life-altering national service
appreciating his efforts for younger generations is reasonable, but the “rare honor” is definitely over-the-top hype, placing him in the same category as those figures with monumental national significance is a huge stretch, and now a 'Modern-Day Saint Paul’? seems ppl have elevated him to an almost mythic status.
