CIA has to pay more than that. I realize the gov payscales they publish but I think via various methods they can be enriched well beyond that because of various other roles you get promoted into, not unlike how on paper senators, etc... make nothing.
I don't think you read what I wrote. People with family connections, etc... they can work that into extremely lucrative jobs.. and those are the people they typically recruit and woo.
Show business and news .. politics etc… all littered with intelligence officials.
