I'm afraid this may very well be the case. Unlike the USA, the citizenry really have no actual power, and palement is not a representative government, no matter what they say. At best it is completely corrupted and for all practical purposes, not beholden to anyone but themselves.

If there is truely no legal way to effect change from the government, the people very well may have to revolt to save England, and the rest of the UK.
