Grid Edge Computing is basically smart management of our power grid. In the past a failure in one location would cascade across other locations until there was enough power to compensate for it. Now there are computing systems that monitor for failures and implement real time fixes in millisecond to limit how far they spread and how much damage they do. There is much more to it than that, but that is where it begins.
I would love to know the mentality of downvoting this comment. All it is, is facts about a real system that is in place. I did not create it, I did not offer opinion on it, I merely provided a definition of what it was..... every village has one I guess....
Edge compute device = something that sits on the edge of the network, ie, a computerized power meter. It's considered in the utility company's network and sits on the edge, therefore edge compute device.
The project will focus approximately 40 percent of the GECs in disadvantaged communities (DACs) to support greater resiliency and clean energy parity within DACs.
I have no doubt in many deamoncrat cities it is, but knowing a bit about it I wonder if it is not at least part of the "Black Eye" that Q references that protects from mass outages across the nation.

Grid = electrical power grid

Plus Portland, OR
Equals fraud and waste?

Smart meters? That in reality cause your electric bill to go higher. And causes spikes and anomalies in the electricity that fuck up your appliances.
Exactly - there's what we think they're used for, and then there's what they're actually used for.
