The problem is you help them get out of debt, they will just borrow again and again. I guess the IMF is evil, so are we going to bail out everyone that owes money to the IMF? Or would the United States become like the IMF,loaning money?

Exactly. And as usual, Trump is going to leverage the $40B for the benefit of the US as well as Argentina. A small piece is rare earth minerals. The bigger picture: Trump is in the process of remaking the western hemisphere.
Argentina has significant reserves of rare earth minerals.
Securing access to rare earth minerals for us is a very good deal in exchange for getting the IMF monkey off their back, I say!

They can borrow from us. If we can give it to keep we can loan it and recover it. And we dont have to charge outrageous interest. Argentina has collateral.
What about bailing the USA out of debt?
Rare earth mineral deal is a good investment and will pay dividends. Trump spends money to make money while the rest of our politicians just piss it into a toilet by diverting it into their stupid little slush fund pet projects.
