Actually not kidding. I am the guy behind a lot of the cool military toys that you hear about frequently and several that you don’t hear about. There’s a lot more cool stuff that could have made it if I didn’t go the small business route.
10% of $4T is $400B a year. And 10% is the lowest rate. Rumor has it that China will be at 25%. Probably with higher numbers on certain products and possibly a kicker if the fentanyl doesn’t stop by some date. So I am guessing that the number will be about $600B a year from tariffs. That is a big chunk of change for the budget. Then with all the DOGE cuts through rescission we will be making real progress.
Congress does baseline budgeting. And rescissions reduce the baseline for the next budget.
I remember being up in Canada, Cold Lake, with my buddies. We were in a bar and at the bar was two Indians eating pickled eggs. They were NBA center sized. A couple of my buddies started giving them a hard time about the eggs. The problem was that if a fight ensued, they expected me to do all the fighting. I was tough, but way smarter and walked away.
The point is that I have never seen native Americans anywhere near that big before.
There are a lot of straight forward economic reasons why the other countries will eat the tariffs and not pass them along to the US. But something popped into my brain: what if that is actually part of each written tariff agreement??
For the Iranians! 🤣🤣🤣
