I had dark dreams about this. 8 years is a long time, and someone here recently pointed out that we seem to be getting the Digital ID no matter who wins. What does Q say about it?
Q-790 DEFINE THE END?
Q-3967 In the end, God Wins!
Q-749 The end won't for everyone. That choice, to know, will be yours.
Many years ago I read "With Folded Hands", a classic science fiction novelette by Jack Williamson. Google AI says praying "with folded hands" is a gesture of humility, respect, and surrender to God. In the story the future is a gilded cage run by an army of robots who know the ends DO justify the means, and the AI serves as a gentle but uncompromising God. COV-ID 19 showed us a glimpse of that cage, and most will accept it because they cannot see and will not know. Those who just want to be left alone, who wish to live outside the cage, will NOT be happy. They will eventually die off, misunderstood and alone, with nothing. That choice will be yours. The flock will own nothing and will be happy. Praise be the all-knowing and all-powerful AI that makes this life possible.
FWIW the alternative was more like "The Jigsaw Man" -- similar cage, but harvested for parts if you cannot conform. So I guess it's a win?
