I once thought about the robot vacuums that run around a room, going around obstacles, etc. Then I heard of a time the dog left poo on the carpet, and the robot spread it all around the room!! Then I heard that even robo vacuum cleaners can spy on you.
I just wish they would come up with a quieter vacuum cleaner! And a quieter blender! And quieter leaf blowers and lawnmowers!! I would pay extra for more peace and serenity from the noise . . .
Soundcore Anker Life Q20 Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling Headphones on sale on Amazon for $44.98. I'm considering these. They would be good to wear if I have to go to Walmart.
HOWEVER sound waves do not assault only one's ears! The vibes impinge on the entire body! Believe me, when I first started to be sensitive to loud noises (I used to love to dance! But the music was SO LOUD!) I tried ear plugs, and they made it actually worse! I actually like the reverb of the bass, when it is not too loud, but one experiences the bass not mainly through the ears . . . [doesn't it seem to vibrate through the floor?]
Plus who wants to have to wear headphones all the time? He does wear ear protection while mowing the lawn, good idea I think. The ear drums have to be protected!! even if it does not solve the entire assault on all the senses . . .
I don't want to wear headphones "all the time," just in noisy places like stores. There is no chance of loud bass in Walmart, just noise. I have Asperger's. I couldn't study in the library in college because of the buzzing fluorescent lights, and the dorm room was super loud every night with all the stereos rattling the doors until 1AM or 2AM every night. I finally had to quit college.

Thanks! My husband also suggested those.

I agree, modern life is just TOO LOUD!
