This is so true. I lived in a socialist country and when I went to the cheese store it was Filled with cheeses of different wrapping and size. But - no matter what you chose it was all the same no flavor cheese. Same with bread: One kind.

Part of me wants to do the "show them" method all the way to the extreme. Have every business owner shut down shop for a day, or a week, and say, "I demand to have free stuff, so I am not working anymore.". Then, all the employees are suddenly jobless. Instant 90 percent unemployed for a week. Maybe a month. Experience the chaos and the neediness. Experience the lawlessness, destruction, and violence. Let those who have demanded free stuff be the ones to experience nothingness because they are the least prepared.

I know, pipe dream. Good people would be hurt. But I feel like people will not learn.

Or, maybe just send them to North Korea as a gift.
