Go to the top bar where your screen name is. Click on it, scroll down and click on 'Settings'.
Scroll down to 'Community Styling' and select 'On' and then scroll down to the save button, and save it.
You will now see everyone's avatars, the sidebar image, but...BUT! You will now not be able to have the option to downvote a post, but can upvote it. And, you will still be able to upvote or downvote a comment.

Yes, that worked, and the image is nice... I had Community Styling tuned off, but I'm not sure I like this screen setting. I might change it back.
