Duh! This is all by design. The public school system quit teaching cursive, aka longhand, so that the last two generations can’t even read the Constitution or the Bill of Rights.
It's taught here in NC. But still, there are a lot of young people who can't even sign their own names. They just print like a 2nd grader. BTW, I learned to sign my name in longhand when I was in 1st grade. I was begging to go to school when I was three years old.
I hope we, as a nation, can rekindle the love of learning. I was just talking with my 19 yo granddaughter and she had no idea what interest was! She graduated high school this past June. I asked her two sisters, one a high school junior and the other an honors freshman, and they didn’t know, either. No one likes school and I think I know why. The real reason is that there is nothing interesting being taught. Teachers aren’t engaged. It’s all about pulling a paycheck. They rely way too much on the internet to provide lessons. There is no spark. I just hope that Trump makes good on his suggestion to bring the trades into the high schools.
