My US history teacher in high school served in Burma and brought a ton of WWII stuff to show us, including guns and bayonets. He could still wear his uniform. This was in 1970, when high schools weren't "gun-free zones."

My English teach saw me reading ww2 books and brought in his 1st Marines divisional history book. Had the pictures that they took themselves... one year I had to give a demonstration speech,so I brought in a .22 rifle and showed how to clean it.
