They are not ignorant. I work at the Welfare Office. 80% of my caseload doesn't deserve the assistance they get because they are lying about their circumstances, which numerous investigations have proven.

The others that do get it don't get what they need or deserve (the disabled and elderly), but because we can actually verify their income because it is usually from the federal government, they get the smallest amount that is issued. Unlike the "single" mothers with four kids who claim she has no idea where baby daddy is (he is usually sitting in the other room) and claims that she can't file for support because he gives her "voluntary" support of $100 a month and if she does, he will get mad at her.
