Because they were supposedly refugees from a Somalian war, led by Al-Qaida, so, sorry to say, it is kind of an own-goal, in terms of lib-tears - 'sheltering refugees'. But, the USA is in there, providing 'military support'. Also: Refugee-camps are a hot-bed of intelligence operators and recruiters.

People 'escaped' to USA, and I guess they are still Somalia-first, and have learnt to fight like assassins/terrorist forces since child-hood. So, maybe not ideal new citizens, and they weren't filtered against 'AL Qaida' ior 'ISIS' infiltration. < and that's a concern.

Somalia also is suffering a humanitarian crisis, and extreme lack of infrastructure, or governance. Furthermore, there is drought. And they received grain from Ukraine and Russia - but not since 2022...
