I worked in a bookstore for awhile. I had many Catholics come in asking for help selecting a Bible. Most had no idea that there were specific editions for Catholics that were different from the Protestant Bibles. I had to teach them about their own religion. It was surreal.

I forwarded some messages from the anons, along with writing a note to her, as well. I have yet to hear anything back from her. I imagine she needs some time to process everything.
It depends on the area too. The local catholic church in my area has struggled with their congregation. The priests actually, push the people to have their relationship directly with God, and not treat the priests any longer as a go between.
This has been going on for several decades. Unfortunately, so many people are conditioned to be lazy and left there salvation be managed through the priesthood, they struggle to comprehend they need to have that personal relationship.
