Im 42 and I did a 3 month stretch that started with a month of gluten free (more personal for digestive reasons), no sugar and no booze and hit the weights pretty hard (averaged about 5 lifts a week) and occasionally got a hike in with the wife and kids on the weekend. Dropped 30 pounds which, 1-2 pounds a week, is considered a healthy rate to lose weight.
Biggest game changer was heavily strengthening legs.
Point is, it’s easy to get caught up in numbers, but that type of weight loss is doable without going overboard and just eating meat.
