We come to the second chapter of the book of Revelation. Now he says, “And has borne, and has patience, and for my name's sake has labored, and has not grown weary.” What does He mean? He said before that they had grown weary, and now He says they haven’t grown weary. Well, this is one of the great paradoxes of the Christian faith, and I think I can illustrate it by what Dwight L. Moody once said. When he came home after a campaign, he was worn out. His family begged him not to go to the next one, and he told them; he says: “I grow weary in the work, but not of the work.” And there’s a lot of difference. You can get weary in the work of Christ, but it’s tragic if you get weary of the work of Christ.

Jesus is only coming back one time. "The dead in Christ will rise first." The important people in the Old Testament went to "sleep with their fathers." Jesus said even King David was still in his grave. I believe in the timeline I was taught in church back 60 years ago. We die, and our souls sleep. At the Second Coming, we saved will rise and meet the living saved in the air and be taken to Heaven. I'm not clear on how long after that the unsaved dead stay dead or how long the unsaved living remain living. I think they will get theirs soon after we get our reward. Also, the Bible says we will be helped through the tribulation, so "pre-trib rapture" is off the table for me. This is how my church used to teach, but somehow it got turned around in recent decades.
Some people talk about so-and-so looking down from Heaven, which is total BS. The Bible says that we will remember nothing about our previous life. It also says there will be no tears in Heaven. This logically leads to the fact that we probably won't even know each other in Heaven. If I went to Heaven, and my mother wasn't there, it would certainly cause sadness. So I won't know who made it, or even remember anyone. That casts a strange light on life in Heaven.
There is also a New Testament verse that seems to say that those who died earlier won't have more time in Heaven, which would be another proof that the dead stay dead until the Second Coming.
I have been studying the Bible a long time. Actually next year will make 60 full years. Almost every tiny fact in the Bible has now been proven, either by archaeology, historical texts, or astronomy. The creation of life by God was proved by DNA, as information (as in DNA) is only created by a mind, never by a random process, and the only mind around before life would be God.
I haven't been online in a while, as things have been busy, both health and household stuff. Have you ever had almost all your major appliances, including water heater, quit nearly simultaneously? I'm about to replace the water heater, washer, and stove. I will be ending cancer treatments in January, as I'm all clear. I've had a lot of inflictions over the years, but I suppose that's a sign Satan is still trying to get me. That won't happen, so he should give up. I suppose he's hard-headed.
Added note: I have an extensive collection of music and other audio recordings. One oddity is a recording of Frank Sinatra doing a local radio advertisement. In the course of the jingle, he sings, "Epstein knocks me out." I cut out that piece so I can play it separately occasionally for fun. I hope this 250th anniversary of the US will be good year for everyone, except for the evil ones. I was broke and working at a convenience store on the day of the 200th in 1976. I am much better now, in spite of all the health problems of the past 10 or 15 years. I have lost a lot of weight in the past couple of years, so I feel a lot better. Perhaps next year, I can do a lot better physically.
I have started having unusual dreams lately. In one last week, Jesus was in it. I haven't told anyone about this dream. There were some women who seemed to be trying to start a church and were wondering how they would be able to get people to show up. Jesus said, "I'll be there." That's all He said in the dream. I wonder if it's a sign. I woke up from this dream about 2:00 AM. I usually don't remember that much about dreams.
