Oh poor thing.
It needs to be permanently withheld. I don't get paid for not doing my job.

And they need to get off of their cushy retirement and health plans and get back with the rest of us
Darn right.
When others suffer for incompetent elected officials something needs to be done to those causing the suffering.
Making it so they are not paid during a shutdown will help put the consequences in their laps but if you think it will deter them, they are millionaires at our expense....they do not care.
Term limits come to mind.
Good thing most are already millionaires. Otherwise this would actually make them pause and maybe do some good. For now they will just make very good stock choices. (sarc)
