I'm guessing there's no weight savings, but at face value this doesn't make much sense to me. As things progress with EV batteries, they should get cheaper which is contrary to what silver is doing.
I won't be buying an EV, but I wish other options would become more mainstream like hydrogen fuel cells. There was some R&D there a number of years ago, Honda I think it was, and even talking about refueling stations in CA where the testing was going to roll out.
Or maybe TMTG/TAE will come out with fusion power plants for cars down the road lol

They are cheeper in the sense that they will last much longer. And give better performance and safety i guess.
