In its simplicity in a nutshell that is the path of salvation orchestrated by our Lord.
Below Peter is telling us the pathway is baptism, NOT WATER BAPTISM (Not the putting away of the filth of the flesh but the answer of a good conscience toward God just like what that thief did.
