Did they think they were racist? If you are a Southerner you know the importance of Black-eyed peas. It a Tradition to eat them on New Year's Day. We also eat greens or cabbage, Pork loin or Pork chops.
I prefer Purple hull peas myself. I love my greens and cabbage. Susan fries the cabbage in a pot with olive oil---mighty tasty with some pepper sauce. I'm off the pork for years now. I prefer Angus ove any other meat but I will eat some fired chicken on occasion.
