McDonald’s moved their HQ in 2018 to downtown Chicago from Oakbrook, where they had a beautiful campus and nice suburban living for their executives. At the time I absolutely could not understand why they would leave a certainly paid-for property to build something new in the city and pay those taxes. My BIL just retired from there. Luckily he got set up to do his job from home just before the move. But they built some god awful concrete and glass monstrosity in town hoping to attract younger, (and cheaper) employees. I don’t know who their CEO is currently but I believe the move was the idea of a newer European guy they had just hired as CEO. Anyway. This video is from 2022. So it only took a few years for find out they’d made a mistake. Idiots.

It's like moving from Oakland to Seattle. How dumb could the CEO be? He probably didn't know what's up his ass.
I wouldn't go move to Chicago even if I were brain dead at the time. Howls.
