It is isolation, and we never should have decided to be the world's police. Closing our bases means drastically reducing the government's projection, I don't believe we should close embassies. Trade is entirely different, but we should abolish immigration, and not allow anyone from foreign countries to open businesses if they're only going to employ their fellow countrymen.

Few immigrants want to assimilate, they fly their home country's flag all the time.
