Seeing as how they destroyed Babylon in the first place by building an army base on top of the ruins in the first gulf war they really have got a cheek.

If memory serves me Saddam built a full sized copy of Babylon to honour himself and also bring in tourists, are they repairing the copy of Babylon that Saddam built? The good thing is that that UNESCO are rebuilding the waterways that were destroyed, an act of barbarism by Saddam. They must have been the oldest habitations of humans ever, they go back to deep antiquity, before everything.
