Just an FYI:

1. There is no legislative session scheduled for this year. Abbott would have to call a special session for Texas Congress to meet. This is normal. Basically, this is a name only job. Is it a good start for this newcomer - yes.
2. Texas had realllly cold weather during this special election. Very low voter turnout - 100, 000.
3. The democrat that won is a blue collar worker, a welder, that ran on lowering property taxes.
