Comms. News stories can be news but can also be comms. The associated press should be a hey look at this but it looks like it is more of an expected list of stories that must be covered. THAT is how they can use news to send coded communication ( comms). If you haven’t encountered sleepy dude. Discover him quick he is IMHO the best at explaining the comms. I am offering a little insight in the how good people get pulled into doing the bidding of the bad guys. This is a sauceless experience of a friend of mine.
I had a friend who was a TV reporter she use to complain about having to do AP stories she thought were irrelevant or badly written to begin with. She almost lost her job for questioning why they were covering something national instead of a local tragedy. She was extremely popular in that city otherwise she would have been told to pack up that day. Mind you she was a very respectful person and this wasn’t an intense moment just hey I am curious why we are using x story and cutting y story. She was taken aside immediately and it was made VERY clear she was on the chopping block. She was let go when her contract came up supposedly because she wasn’t engaging enough despite being voted favorite reporter in the local newspaper. She went onto a bigger market and then bigger because she wasn’t engaging enough in fact really good. So they did her favor ultimately but yeah pretty sure she also learned her “lesson”. She didn’t question a producer ever again. Reporters are talking heads literally and the good ones are shut down pretty quick.

I grew tired of the cirlejerk years ago. All I care about now are arrests. Spy games and double secret probation code talk no longer interest me.
I get it definitely been there but at least my comment might help a newbie.
