Speaking candidly at a press conference, the Patriots quarterback was quoted as saying he would “rather retire tomorrow” than wear it. The remarks spread rapidly across social media, triggering intense backlash from league observers and advocacy groups.
With pressure mounting, both Maye and New England’s leadership now face a pivotal moment that could shape his future within the next 24 hours.
The controversy surrounding Drake Maye’s recent comments has sent shockwaves through the NFL. As one of the league’s promising young quarterbacks, Maye has become a lightning rod for discussion after voicing his refusal to wear the LGBT rainbow captain’s armband, a symbol of inclusion and support for the LGBTQ+ community.
Absolutely any time! I understand the feeling everyone around you is dying. Better than I wish I did. I hope you can actually get to spend time with her soon. I get the distinct feeling you both need that. I'll pray you get it soon.
Michael is with you in spirit. I know that doesn't really help. The reality of how much you emotionally depend on them really hits you. It hit me really hard that first New Year Eve. It was horribly foggy and the smoke from all the fireworks just added to it. I was driving home, nervous bc I couldn't see well. My husband always drove, and rare occasions we weren't together, I'd call him and he'd talk to me and keep me steady. Thats the night I truly realized I was alone. I had quit smoking 6 yrs prior. I bought a pack of cigarettes that night. I finally decided to quit again about 5 months ago. I hid it from everyone 🙈 was so ashamed of caving.
Thank you for your prayers and thoughts as well. I don't envy you this tough situation. Don't hesitate if you need a shoulder or an ear.
EDIT: don't hesitate period lol. You don't have to need an ear or shoulder, if you just want to chat.
