I hope he rolls back the EPA regulation that made it so that manual transmissions have to be geared such that they perform worse than slushboxes.
Is that why there are so few six-speed transmissions?
It has to be one of the reasons. The regulation I'm thinking of restricts how much noise a manual transmission car can make in 3rd gear. The "automatic" section of that regulation allows the transmission to shift into whatever gear the manufacturer wants during the test.
But there's also the fact that manufacturers of anything these days resent consumer choice and are all trying to deny us a choice as much as possible.
