If you have to deceive and hide what religion you are, then it's not a...good... religion.
"Now when he saw many of the Pharisees, and of the Sadducees come to his baptism, he said unto them, O generation of vipers, who hath forewarned you to flee from the anger to come?" ---Matthew 3:7
Religion or Cult , the evil that necessitates deceit is the same. And only the individuals can find the good/truth needed.
