Done with the promise of things they couldn't obtain without two working adults and then get them addicted to keeping up with the Jone's to satisfy those desires...then add women empowerment and you have the perfect storm.
You are not wrong fren; the world would be a better place if only the Father of each household could work but the system is set up that it takes two for most individuals to make enough to satisfy their desires and even then they are still a slave to the system with only a taste to keep them coming for more.
