Family of 26-year-old Canadian says son was euthanized for depression, doctor coached him to "deteriorate his body" to qualify
In a sad story from the land of moose, fresh mountain air, and state-sponsored killing, a Canadian family expressed outrage at the nation's government for euthanizing a 26-year-old man for "seasonal depression."
This doesn't surprise me because the world today seems immune to the emotional impact of death. I attribute it to too many violent fake deaths on television and too many fake deaths in video games. When I was young even the thought of euthanasia would make anyone feel sick to their stomach at the thought of killing an innocent person. Even capital punishment was seen as a necessary evil -- nobody liked it but realized that unless the John Wayne Gacy type of criminals suffered the ultimate punishment there was nothing to deter others from imitating him.
This 26 year old man asked for a permanent solution for a temporary problem. Seasonal affective disorder can be dealt with if you are given the proper medication. He needed a consult with a medical specialist and not a trip to eternity. This euthanasia is a terrible thing and I hope they shut it down.
Canada is very sick spiritually. The U.S. was almost as bad but we are breaking out of it. Hope canada gets free too.
