Welcome to General Chat - GAW Community Area
This General Chat area started off as a place for people to talk about things that are off topic, however it has quickly evolved into a community and has become an integral part of the GAW experience for many of us.
Based on its evolving needs and plenty of user feedback, we are trying to bring some order and institute some rules. Please make sure you read these rules and participate in the spirit of this community.
Rules for General Chat
-
Be respectful to each other. This is of utmost importance, and comments may be removed if deemed not respectful.
-
Avoid long drawn out arguments. This should be a place to relax, not to waste your time needlessly.
-
Personal anecdotes, puzzles, cute pics/clips - everything welcome
-
Please do not spam at the top level. If you have a lot to post each day, try and post them all together in one top level comment
-
Try keep things light. If you are bringing in deep stuff, try not to go overboard.
-
Things that are clearly on-topic for this board should be posted as a separate post and not here (except if you are new and still getting the feel of this place)
-
If you find people violating these rules, deport them rather than start a argument here.
-
Feel free to give feedback as these rules are expected to keep evolving
In short, imagine this thread to be a local community hall where we all gather and chat daily. Please be respectful to others in the same way
Rules For the rest of the Site also accessible on the sidebar.

Thats why I used the word "Creator". I only care about our Creator. I dont know who created the others or how they were created, including our Creator.
Answer: the Creator aka Our Lord and Savior has no beginning or end. He created everything obviously
Clearly, earth is only on planet amongst many billions, so is this referring to the "beginning of the Universe" or "beginning of Humanity" ?
If we answer "Universe", it leads to a lot of inconsistencies: Earth should be as old as the oldest part of the Universe, for example. And if this is the beginning of the Universe where was God? Why didn't it start with "in the beginning there was only God and God created the Universe" ?
However if we answer "Humanity" it all falls perfectly in place. We dont have to fight Science about the age of Earth or whether other planets are considered "heavens" and if so how are they different from Earth, etc.
When you realise this is talking about the birth of the Humanity, the story is very easy to understand:
A star was created for us, which we call Sun.
The rest of the Genesis 1 is the story of how Earth was created after Sun was created.
Note: This may not be palatable to a lot of Christians, but I love to tackle everything from "First Principles". With Bible, I want to understand what the message from God is, not how humans have interpreted it over the centuries. I definitely dont advocate that this is the only way to interpret it - just that this interpretation is the most consistent interpretation that made sense for me.
