Actually, that is not accurate, and here is why: The 2nd A is 100% a reminder to government that it has 0 power over anything related to our right to bear arms, our right to own arms, our right to defend our property, our lives, our families, our communities, and our Constitutional Republic. It is a prohibition on ANY infringement on any of those things via legislation, or any other action, by government. It is also a reminder that they have no power over the militia's, and a warning that the militia's are a direct defense and response to government violating these prohibitions, or the prohibition over any of our other rights.
It was not written for us, it was written for government as a reminder of the limits of delegated power, and a warning as to the consequences of ignoring those warnings.
Amendments are not the source of rights, nor our freedoms, they only exist to restrict government from eroding those pre-existing rights. The Constitution is merely the charter that authorizes the limited power delegated to the government. It has no power over people, only over government. It also has no authority over rights, since that is the province of our Creator alone.
That's why there's 2nd amendment. After I am here in the south, I started to go learn. Need to go train again.

I understand. It's a good explanation.
