For a mostly introverted self like me, my dog Steve (chihuahua) keeps all the riffraff separated. He protects the little people, he makes my MIL stay home, and the random passersby don't knock. It's a glorious existence with Steve.
Put him in charge of feeding the dogs. They'll take care of him real quick.

Dogs do know people. I like the Pits but I also love a Rotty.
I like 'em all. There are some breeds outside my area of expertise, however... Border Collies I'm looking at you.
I especially like husky. They talk to you.
I LIKE them, and I know them, but I don't want to live with them. Couple of acres in AK and a sled daddy is what they need. Oh, and a tree to climb.
