I am trying to understand how a muslim nation, in this case Iran, would be able to transform into a pro western country from one where sharia law rules. Will the younger generations of citizens be able to do this? I am not seeing anyone at the forefront as a leader of their Freedom movement. Can this be accomplished without US moving in to establish this new leadership?

One of my best friends was station in Iran before and when the Shaw fell. He was on the last Military flight out. He used to tell me stories of being off base (free time) was similar to partying here in the US. Society there was much different in the 70’s it seems.
