I have been a truck driver in California for my career. I started when it was a decent union job that allowed you to provide for your family. So in my 30 years I have seen the changes to the industry that stripped us of a good paying job to that of immigrants infiltrating and destroying our livelihood. On the road in California yesterday I made a point at looking at other drivers on the road. I can’t say for sure all are illegal however California is doing nothing to check the status of drivers. Please Sec. Duffy put pressure on Ca. to place ICE and homeland security agents to conduct checks at weigh stations across the state to get them off the road. Unless pressure is placed upon Ca. CHP to address this problem nothing will change. Please give us our industry back.

My husband spent a few years OTR trucking, back say 15 years ago. He bitched constantly even then about all the foreign truckers on the road. They couldn't drive being one of the primary complaints. Taking jobs significantly lower paying and bringing down the pay across the board was another favorite. He'd be cheering this on.
I edited the time frame. Its been longer than I realized. 🙈
Why isn't the union doing anything about it? 🤔🤨
The union is in bed with them. I’m a shop steward. I’ve seen it first hand. Lobbyists rule the union.
You are correct. California truck drivers need to be double checked. Newscum has allowed drivers on the road that don't speak English. That's insane
Had a desert person get a semi stuck and jack-knifed in a ditch a couple months ago. I know he was illegal since he couldn't read the street signs, couldn't speak or comprehend english, and disappeared when the police showed up with the tow truck. I spoke with the tow truck driver and he said it was a weekly occurrence. The trucks get towed to the impound and the company is informed that the driver "beached" the rig and fled before police arrived.
