Ah yes, the classic move. Someone disagrees with your interpretation, so you clutch Romans 11 like it’s the last life raft on the Titanic and accuse them of ripping pages out of the Bible.
But nobody’s editing Romans 11. The problem is that many folks read it like a political campaign flyer instead of like Paul’s actual argument.
Paul’s whole point in Epistle to the Romans 11 is about the olive tree. There is one tree, not two. Jews who rejected Christ were broken off. Gentiles who believe were grafted in. And Jews who later believe will be grafted back in again. Same tree, same root, same Savior.
Notice what Paul does not say. He does not say unbelieving Israel stays in the tree because of ethnicity. Quite the opposite. He says they were cut off because of unbelief. That is not a footnote. That is the entire argument.
And the way back in is not through genealogy tests, temple blueprints, or a passport stamped in Jerusalem. Paul says plainly they are grafted in “if they do not continue in unbelief.”
In other words, the door is wide open. But the door has a name, and His name is Jesus.
So no, Romans 11 is not being edited out. It is simply being read without the dispensational decoder ring. The chapter does not promise a parallel covenant track for ethnic Israel. It promises that Jews, just like Gentiles, are saved the same way everyone else is.
One tree. One root. One Messiah.
And if someone insists that ethnic Israel gets to stay in the tree while rejecting the Messiah, then they are not defending Romans 11. They are politely disagreeing with Paul while quoting him at the same time. Which is a bit like arguing that gravity does not exist while falling off the roof. It works for a few seconds, but the landing is rough.
