Many see the Rebbe as a "Prophet of the generation".

Jews believe that in every generation, there is a prophet. And in every generation, someone has the potential to be the Moshiac.

Right now, the "prophet of the generation" is probably the "Yanuka", Rav Shlomo Yehuda.

The Moshiac will be the one who annoits the King of Israel. I don't think the Rebbe ever announced who was the King of the Jews.
