I always thought it was weird that JFK Jr's plane crashed in the ocean on the way to an airport, but somehow the plane's registration document happened to wash up on the Kennedy's private family beach. Quite a coincidence.
Found another interesting old page. This one mentions that an emergency locator beacon was detected far away from the crash site (but I gather along the flight path).
An emergency beacon thought to belong to the plane was activated and
heard by the Coast Guard in Long Island, N.Y., at 3:40 a.m. But as the
search went on, authorities seemed to discount the relevance of the
beacon signal.
They said that they went to investigate but the beacon had stopped transmitting before they could find it. Hmm..
The weirdest thing is he officially disappeared on the 17th and there were "only 17 people" at his funeral. Then there's that photo of the investigators going over the remains of the crash that literally look like JFK Jr and his Wife. lol.

Here's a local article from 1999 that mentions it. https://www.capecodtimes.com/story/news/local/1999/07/20/plane-s-registration-washed-up/51036861007/
